Privacy Policy

Effective date: 12 July 2026 Last updated: 12 July 2026

1. Who we are

Luna ("Luna", "we", "us", "our") is a cycle-syncing wellness and astrology app operated by Launch Match Limited. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

Data controller: Launch Match Limited (registered in England & Wales), 10 Marvell Court, London W3 8FX. Company number 17130112. Contact: info@lunaapp.co.uk Website: https://www.lunaapp.co.uk

Luna provides wellness and educational guidance. It is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a contraceptive, and does not provide medical advice.

2. The information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your email address and password.
  • Health and cycle data: period start dates, average cycle and period length, logged symptoms (e.g. cramps, mood, fatigue), and energy levels. This is sensitive health information and we treat it with extra care.
  • Astrology details: your birth date, and optionally birth time and birth place (you can choose "I don't know my birth time").
  • Preferences and goals: dietary preferences and your primary wellness goal.
  • Feedback you choose to send us.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage and analytics data: how you interact with the app (screens viewed, features used), collected to understand and improve the product. We do not put your health/cycle content into analytics.
  • Device and technical data: device type, operating system, app version, and similar technical details.

Subscription information

  • If you subscribe, your purchase is processed by Apple and managed via RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (active, trial, expired) but we do not collect or store your payment card details — Apple handles payment.

3. How we use your information — and our legal bases (UK GDPR)

  • To provide the app — calculate your cycle phase and predictions, generate your daily reading, meal plans, recipes, and insights, and show your logs. Legal basis: performance of a contract with you.
  • To process your health and cycle data specifically — because this is special category data, we rely on your explicit consent, which you give during onboarding and can withdraw at any time.
  • To send you reminders and notifications you've enabled. Legal basis: consent.
  • To improve and secure the app using analytics. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in improving our service, balanced against your rights.
  • To manage your subscription and comply with legal obligations (e.g. tax, accounting). Legal bases: contract and legal obligation.

4. AI-generated features

Some of Luna's features — your daily reading, meal plans, recipes, and insights — are generated using a third-party AI provider (Anthropic, via the Claude API). To create this content, we send the AI provider the minimum relevant context (such as your cycle phase, the moon phase, your star sign, dietary preferences, goal, and, for insights, a summary of your logged patterns). We do not send your email or identity for this purpose. The AI provider processes this to return your content and does not use it to train its models under our API terms.

These features generate personalised content; they are not automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

5. Cookies and tracking

Luna uses cookies and similar technologies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies keep you logged in and the service working — these don't require consent.
  • Analytics cookies and identifiers (via Google Analytics 4 and PostHog) help us understand how the app and website are used. On our website, non-essential analytics cookies are set only with your consent, which you give through our cookie banner and can change at any time.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

6. Communications and notifications

  • Notifications: with your permission, Luna sends push notifications and reminders (e.g. period predictions, your daily reading). We ask for notification permission, and you can turn these off at any time in the app or your device settings.
  • Transactional messages (account, subscription, and reminders you've enabled) are part of the service.
  • Marketing emails (e.g. launch news or tips) are separate: we send them only with your consent, and every one includes an unsubscribe link.

7. How we share your information

We never sell your personal data, and we never share your reproductive or health data for advertising.

We share data only with trusted service providers ("processors") who help us run Luna, and only as needed:

  • Supabase — secure database hosting and authentication.
  • Anthropic — AI generation of readings, meal plans, and insights (see section 4).
  • Apple / RevenueCat — subscription processing and status.
  • Resend — sending you transactional emails and reminders.
  • Google Analytics 4 and PostHog — product and website analytics.
  • Lovable — app and website hosting.

Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. If we later integrate Apple Health, that data is handled in line with Apple's HealthKit requirements and is never used for advertising.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or Luna.

8. International data transfers

Some of our providers process data outside the UK/EEA (for example, in the United States). Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK/EU adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses to protect your data.

9. How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations (e.g. tax records).

10. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • erase your data ("right to be forgotten");
  • export your data in a portable format;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent at any time (including for health-data processing and notifications).

You can export your data and delete your account directly in the app (Profile → Settings). For any other request, contact us at info@lunaapp.co.uk. We'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

11. Security and data breaches

We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and at rest and row-level access controls so your data is only accessible to you. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the protection of your health data seriously.

If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to risk your rights and freedoms, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours where required, and affected users without undue delay.

12. Age

Luna is intended for individuals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under this age. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here and, where changes are significant, notify you in the app or by email.
